Stepping out on foot is by far the best way to explore the island. There are lots of scenic routes to choose from, including the meandering cliff paths and the winding Ruettes Tranquilles, a series of narrow lanes which lead you off-the- beaten-track through the countryside. Whichever you opt for, you’ll be rewarded with views at every corner. The network of quiet roads, tranquil lanes and picturesque coastlines are also perfect for cycling.

Adventurous souls and nature lovers alike will want to embrace Guernsey’s diverse outdoor activities, be it coasteering and wild swimming, or getting out on the water aboard a kayak or paddleboard. If in need of a culture fix, there’s ancient castles, hidden bunkers, art houses, fascinating museums, a tiny version of Lourdes and the home of Victor Hugo, one of the world’s most celebrated authors.

St Peter Port, the island’s charming capital, is considered one of Europe’s prettiest harbour towns. With its cobbled streets, picturesque marina and vibrant squares brimming with cafes and quaint boutiques, it is easy to see why.
